hello everyone

I have a 2000 chevy malibu and my left tail light is not working, its like if the wiring was mixed up. Water was getting into my tail light and burnt out the plug so i bought a new one, the only thing is the cables were all gray with no color, I tried to connect it like the opposite of right tail light and now i have funny things happening with my left tail light. can anyone help me out and tell me what order the wires should go into the passenger side tail light plug

thanks in advance

1 - did you replace the radio?
2 - why not get a replacement unit from the junkyard?

yes I did replace the radio but that was way before my tail light plug got burnt out could've been like 5 to 6 yrs before

I could go to the junkyard but it will cost me more to buy one than just to find out where the colored wires should be. Im not good on cash and im trying to save whatever cash i get for any real emergency like rent and food. My tail light is good, its just the wirings are not in the right place

Maybe go to a junkyard and look at the wiring on one of the cars. You'll need to find a yard in your area where you can salvage your own parts. Another option would be to check the wiring with a voltmeter. Final option, go to a used car lot and "test drive" your year Malibu and take it around the block and pull the rear lamp and check the wiring - take a digital pic. Good luck.
