94 LSS sputters out of idle

my 94 olds lss sputters coming out of idle... not predictable. i can give it gas and it'll roll slowly at 20mph bursts out of the intersection, or i can restart it once or twice right there in the intersection and then it'll go fine for a while.

the other day, it sputtered and lost acceleration while on the highway, and i pulled over and restarted.

replaced a few vacuum hoses for other functions (cruise), wondering whether there's a bigger vacuum problem.

sort of unsafe to drive far from home, because i can't loose acceleration in traffic like that. any suggestions?

Welcome to AF, many things can cause this, loss of spark, low fuel pressure, defective ign components, crank sensor , ign module. I would start with confirming good fuel pressure when this occurs, not easy to do based on your description.
