Are you referring to the transverse spring assembly and jack pad? Check out Autozone Repair Guides at the link below.

i have checked out the site. Beware with me though its my first time doing this. I got some new pads from the dealer. But where do they go. There is is still one there it is rubber. Are the pads suppose to rubber or plastic. Do the Pads go at the end of the leaf where the trailing arm connects

The pads attach to the ends of the transverse leaf, where it contacts the rear spindle assembly. The new replacements are and improved design, and are made of a different material than the OEM ones.

do i actually have to take the leaf spring out. Can i just jack up the end of leaf spring to slide in the pad. And what holds the pad in there besides the spring.
