98 Olds 88 Ls- Climate Control Upgrade

Has anyone tried replacing the manual climate control with one of the automatic units. I owned a 95 LSS w/ a S.C. a few years ago and I bought this car with the hopes it would feel the same. I am not very disapointed but I would like the central climate control back.

I would be inclined to think that it would not be direct replacement.

I have access to a similar 98 Olds 88 LS at a local junkyard. The model has the climate control. I may just pull it and check for connections.

GM dealer told me that the heater & AC control I have (ACDELCO # 15-72200, now dicontinued) can be replaced by a scrapyard model from 1995-1999. ACDELCO site is listing it as compatible with 1996-1999. I must add, mine is equipped with the CJ2 option (front passenger separate control).

There are several version of this CLIMATE CONTROL module. I would suggest you check on ACDELCO with the VIN and part number for both parts before you attempt connecting it together. With both part numbers on hand, it is quite easy to cross reference if it is compatible with your VIN.
