My fuel gauge is not registering. Is there anything I can do to check it out before spending $800 to have a dealer remove the tank and replace part?
Thanks for your help.

If you're mechanically inclined at all, it's not that hard to change out the fuel pump yourself. The main thing is getting the tank empty or near empty before you start since you don't want to wrestle a half or 3/4 full gas tank. Once you remove the straps holding the tank and disconnect the lines and drop the tank, putting the pump in is easy. You can do this yourself with aid from a friend for about $200, the cost of the pump. It's like making $600 for a 1/2 work of work, not bad.
