I was looking for an ABS scan tool for home use. My OTC 4000E is getting to old and if I get another vehicle I will need a new scan tool. Actron has an ABS scan tool for around $200.00 has anybody used this or another similar priced unit from another manufacturer. I don't want to spend $2500 or more for a good unit as I wouldn't use it enough.

Check the OTC Nemesis. They are form 900 to 1200$. It gives codes, PIDS, freeze frame. It does engine and ABS. The only downfall is it is not bi-directional. I have one for the other than Ford vehicles at the shop. It is a good all around tool for not really alot of money. It will read fron 1981 to present.

Is this the tool you recommended. It sure has a lot more functions.
They have a good price on a lot of tools. Items they don't stock take a while but I've always gotten them.
A lot cheaper than a tool truck but not as handy. Thanks for the info.

That is the one. Wish I had seen that before I bought mine. Might get the update through them too. That tool is good for the general professional or the serious DIY type. You do not need to update every year, just as the vehicles you work on get newer. Good luck with what you chose.

Thanks for the info I found with the OTC 4000E you can change the year. Use a 2002 for a 2004 with the same size engine. If you get in a jam and need info try this.
