i dont think it was neccessary to make a whole new thread trying to get the same info

well i have a 1988 buick park ave, and its currently sitting on 97,000 miles even(kinda weird lol) i got the car when it had 90,000 miles on it three months ago, any suggestions on tune-ups. the guy i bought it from said i would need a tuneup and he gave me some new sparkplugs, wires, and an air filter, but im a greenhorn when it comes to stuff like that. so my quesition is what other parts will i need for a tune up, and is 80 dollars a good price(a mechanic told me that when i get all the parts he'll do it for 80 bucks)

oh yeah i talked to this older guy on my block about why it would take like 20 minutes for heat to get semi-hot in my car in the winter time, and why my AC doesnt work. he said he doenst know about the heat, but for the AC i would have to get a new system because mine is outdated because it messed with the ozone layer:banghead:
anyone know how much an AC conversion will cost? please be twenty dollars:2cents:

Well, it’s not that difficult to make a new thread; I just did it for you. If you will notice the thread title now indicates the correct year of your car and correctly identifies what your questions are. Tagging off someone else’s thread with a different vehicle year & thread header is not in your best interest. This tactic will delay response time and is very frustrating to fellow members who have limited time to respond to the threads. In the future, keep your threads/post vehicle, year and question specific. We thank you for your cooperation!

No problem with your post and you are not “being a pest”, we just wanted to help familiarize you with the proper posting etiquette. Just follow our Af Community Guidlines (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/guidelines.html) and you will be fine!
Eighty bucks to change the plugs, wires, and air filter is not a bad price. Don’t forget the fuel filter, it should be changed every 30K, especially on an older car such as this. :iceslolan

It is mounted below & inside the housing where the top radiator hose clamps to the engine. You could also be low on coolant, or have poor circulation. An A/C conversion from R12 to 134a can range from 150-300 bucks, depending on the shop. Stop by a few reputable shops and get some proper diagnostics & free estimates. Good Luck!
