Beautiful 96 Buick Park Ave P0102 Code plus few other problems

It took a while but I found a Buick forum. Let me start by saying that I’m not just some guy here to just have my questions answered, problem fixed and never return. I have a very nice 1996 Buick Park Avenue that I just love and want to share any info that I have to help. I will post some great photos later but right now I do have a few problems that I have put off that I need help with. Let me start off with the check engine light. Lately my check engine light came on and my car at times sounds as if it wants to cut off when I first start it. I give it a light tap on the gas paddle and it idles back to normal. While driving it the car looses power then gains it back making the car jerk. When it’s in park and I mash down on the paddle when the RPM gets pass 4000 the RMPs jumps back and fourth from 4000 to 6000 RPMs as if it has some type of rev limiter or something. I took it to Auto Zone and the TROUBLE CODE was P0102 which means MAP or MAF sensor (may be other thing I don’t know). I change the MAP sensor (it was 1 of the sensors listed as a possible problem and the cheaper of the 2) and the problem did not go away. A friend told me to try the TPS (Throttle Positioning Sensor). I decided to come here before I start playing the guessing game. Not sure if these other issues may be related but its better to give you too much info than not enough just incase it may be linked to a bad computer or something. Over the winter and the start of spring the following problems started. My moon roof doesn’t stop in the close position I have to release the button once it’s in the closed or it will lift up in the open position. I notice that sometimes the interior light stays on while driving. The keyless entry stopped working but the panic button and truck release button still worked then it started back working again just to stop working again. I pressed the lock and unlock buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds then it started working again. Near the end of the winter the drivers side heat works fine but the passengers side blows cold and the temperature flashes on the climate display for about 10 seconds after the heat has been on for about 45 seconds. The AC works great but blows very hot air for the first 45 seconds then the temperature flashes on the climate display then both the driver side and passenger starts to blow cold air and stays that way until I turn the car off, and when I turn it back on it blow hot air for about 45 second and then turns back to cold. As stated above I’m not sure if these problems is related to the big problem of the error code P0102 but I list them just to be sure. I would love to get all the problems fixed but main focus is on the Trouble Code P0102. I will continue to post on this thread with these issues to let everyone now what fixes worked. I really need some help on this one. I’m not here just for myself I want to help all and become part of this great Buick forum community.

You did not mention whether or not your PA is an Ultra VIN (1) or the base VIN (K). It doesn’t matter in this case, because both have a rev limiter built into the PCM set @ 4000-4200 rpm when revving and not in gear. BTW, it's not a good practice to free spin an engine like that anyway!

As you said, "your main focus is the P0102”, which is; Mass Air Flow Sensor Circuit Low Frequency. Of course, a scan tool is the best method of testing. The MAF sensor produces a frequency output between 32 and 150 hertz and can be monitored on a scanner. If you don't have access to a full function scanner, you can try the DIY method by tapping on the sensor with screwdriver handle while the engine is idling, if the engine rpm fluctuates while tapping, replace the MAF sensor. Also, make sure the MAF electrical connector is clean and fully seated. Other possibilities for this DTC may include the IAC, MAF, MAP, TPS, vacuum leak, PCM module, or dirty throttle body. This sounds like someone removed the battery cable without turning off the A/C controller first. Your system is now out of calibration, however, it will usually recalibrate after about 50 ignition OFF/ON cycles.
