Mitsubishi eclipse 97 stutters and shuts off help :(?

the Alternator belt was changed on my mitsubishi eclipse 97since it needed to be replaced. after this was done maybe a few hours later the car started to stutter, shake, and revving itself to keep from shutting off.:crying::confused: :confused:. Another thing that happened the day after was that at almost every stop light the car was stutterng, and turning off as well as overheating??!!!!!!!!!. :shakehead . what is weird it was not happening before i got the $#%#$% alternator belt fixed. i am assuming that the mechanic did something since my car was working excellent (not stalling nor shaking and shutting off ) before this mechanic change the alternator belt . also would anyone know that might be causing this please helpppppppppppp:confused::banghead::shakehead

Is your check engine light on?

Alternator belt will not cause those problems, so there's definitely something else going on under there. Have you opened the hood and checked for any loose connectors or if any wires are just hanging there? Sounds like something was unplugged and not plugged back in.

So the car over heated? Is there coolant in the reservoir?
