04 Aztek abs problem

I have a 04 Aztek and the abs will come on when braking. If you drive it for a few minutes the abs brakes come on when your braking, then the anti lock light comes on, and then it won't do it anymore. I tried to pull the fuse for the pump so they would quit coming on, until I figured out the problem. But then the brake light came on as well as the anti lock light. I haven't ran it on a scanner yet, but I was wondering if anyone had any ideas?

I assume you mean the ABS light comes on when you brake. I believe it may take a dealer scanner to point to a particular wheel the system is complaining about, and the first thing it will suggest is sensor being bad (meaning replacement of bearing hub assembly), but in many cases it is due to bad connection to sensor (corroded or whatever) or broken wire. It is also possible there is water intrusion/corrosion in a connector underneath vehicle just to rear of drivers seat that has been known to cause troubles.
