Hello, Ladies and Gentlemen,

I have a 94 Buick P.A. with 123,000 miles and I would like to know the tune up intervals, if there are any. The last tune up was at 100,000 miles and that was in Houston, TX, and I have driven to and from AZ a few times and am currently in Phoenix, AZ. Is it time for a tune up now?

How much should a complete tune up cost in this area and are there any reputable shops?

Thanks for your help.

Your 94 didn't come factory with platinum/iridium plugs, so your tune-up interval would fall in the 3 year/ 35k-50k mile range. A complete tune-up consists of plugs, wires, fuel filter, pcv valve and air filter on your vehicle. The cost of parts will vary from area to area, and so are labor rates. They shouldn't charge you more than 2 hours labor for everything listed above.

Did the 96 PA come with platinum or iridium plugs? What is the replacement frequency for these type plugs? Thanks.

Did the 96 PA come with platinum or iridium plugs? What is the replacement frequency for these type plugs? Thanks. More than likely your 96 came with ACDelco 41-101 Iridium plugs. Iridium plugs are designed to last 100,000 miles, however, I have seen some with over 125K that still looked new and performed flawless without any misfires stored, or detected. Actually, the plugs will outlast the wires in most cases! If you have over 100K on the car, I would suggest that you replace wires & plugs at the same time.
