96 F-250 chugs...please helpW-T-Katt 05-31-2008, 12:25 AM Hi all, I've got a 1996 F-250 4x4 with a fuel injected 460. When the truck is cold, it runs great. When it gets to operating temp, it will chug & stutter under a load (going uphill etc.) It does this whether or not the egr is hooked up. I replaced the temp. sending unit for the computer & that did nothing. Also, should this year truck have the OBD2 system in it or not? I can't find ANY port whatsoever to plug a reader of any kind into. Thanks in advance for your help. khadma 05-31-2008, 03:07 AM You should pull the codes to look for any DTCs even if the Check Engine Light is not on. There should be a 16 pin OBDII connecting point at the bottom of the dash, below the ashtray. It has a black cover and it is kind of tucked back out of sight. This sounds like it is EGR related, but pull the codes and post them here. snake19792 06-04-2008, 12:12 AM if your truck was made in the later part of 95 then it may still have the OBD-I system and if so the plug for it will be under the hood on the drivers side in between the brake booster and the cruise control module. i have one like this state and ford call it a 96 but its actually a late 95. Joe2705 06-11-2008, 01:42 AM Try to check the TP-Sensor.don't know fore shure but my 91' did the same. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
