Replacing my 96 PA heater core

Its leaking like a seive and I've tried the stop leak option. It was a no go. :crying:

If I choose to replace the heater core myself, how difficult would you say it is to do so? Am i better off just taking it to the shop?
Is this done from the inside or outside of the vehicle?

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

The heater core is located under the dash. The heater hoses that connect to the core are located under the hood coming through the firewall. If you were a young contortionist, the heater core replacement would probably take no more than 3-4 hrs of hard labor. If not, it is better to leave it to someone who does this sort of thing for a living. (I feel for that person)! The first pic below shows the heater box with some parts already removed. The second pic will show what parts went where and the third pic, is what you will see after a few hours of exhausting labor. If you get that far, remove the heater core retaining tabs & hoses from the under-hood firewall and just pull the core out. Good Luck! :iceslolan

Thats what I was afraid of.
I am neither young, nor a contortionist, so I guess I will leave it to the local mechanic. They treat me pretty fair anyway.

Thanks for the advice.
