Couple of things of note I've noticed:

For the Domestic people:

Holden's Monaro, which is the Aussie car(rr) which the new GTO is gonna be based on, is going to get an HRT (Holden Racong Team) version that will be dubbed the "HRT 427". Yes folks, that's the engine size. It will be fitted with Chevy's 7.0litre (427 cu-in) C5-R race engine. It is street-legal (in Aus), and will have 572HP and 557TQ. It will also have CF hood, racing seats, and other goodies to make it LIGHTER. Pray that this comes to the US.

Importers;):

The mag ran one of the new US-spec Lancer EVOs, and managed a 13.8@101.5 out of it, with handling that BEAT an S2000 on a road-course. This is coming from a magazine that only managed a 13.3@108.1 out of a 2003 SVT Cobra.

Can't wait for the WRX-STi...same weight as the Lancer, with 30 more HP and TQ...

I was just down at 7-11 and saw some mag(forget which one it was now:( that had the 2005 Corvette C6 on it...Didn't look inside, but the front cover said 500hp+ and it had a nice concept on it...Can't wait:D Not like I'll be getting one or anything...But I can't wait to see them around on the streets:D

I would take one of those Holdens in a heartbeat.

Some of those C5R engines have made it into the some of the new ZL1 Camaros, to the tune of $27000:eek: . Their list price was somewhere around $91k, and they were all accounted for before they were built by GMMG. I'll take a 427 C5R equipped ZL1 with 600hp, sign me up :D

From what I understood, the ZL-1 Camaros of late used the ZL-1 Donovan big block, and the C5R has a 7 liter LS1 stroker engine.

Why do you think I subscribe to Road & Track exclusively? Well, because I can't afford Evo or Sports Car Internation ;)

There were three stages that could be ordered with the new ZL1's, 400hp, 475hp, and 600 hp. The 600hp option was where they used the C5R engine. The other two were just massaged LS1's I believe...

I doubt that Monaro will show up here as the GTO, if it does it will kill the Vette, and will be priced REALLY high.

It would be a sweet ass car thought. The Aussi Holdens look sweet.

wow.. those camaro's look damn awesome. Butt I'd prefer to not have that strip across the top of the car. But still.. I'll be like Demon and take 5.:p
