I know this don't sound right but try the ICM one more time as I had simular and this did take care of it for me
spark is controled by crank sensor
cam to some degree and ICM
I installed diferant un till it cost about 600.00 for every thing new twice of course and found my ICM ....only ran on two cylinders and that was some times. and at other times ran great ICM tested good origanalluy also.
check plugin and wires at the ICM later

Well I tried 3 IDI covers so I dont think its that, I pulled all the brand new plugs i put in this morning, and the #2 plug was soaked in gas. Whats this mean? I know it means that cylinder isnt firing(getting spark) but its like that with all 3 covers......and 3 covers arent bad my original worked perfectly fine before I originally changed the plugs.........HELP!!! :( :( :( :(

Hey Kirk what is the ICM and where is it located? So far I have tried several IDI covers(the 2.4 Twin Cam cover), tried every brand of spark plugs, tried new Camshaft sensor, new MAP sensor and checked the computer to make sure it wasnt corroded, and still runs like shit.......I cant figure it out

Okay well heres what I have tried:

Spark plugs
IDI Covers
Camshaft Sensor
MAP Sensor and vacuum line
ICM sensor
Injector Cleaner
Fuel Pump relay
Fuel Pump

still runs like shit, Im getting on the verge of selling it, I have now run out of money and it still runs like shit. Anyone got $4000? Take the thing away.

Today I tried:

Computer change
Compression Test(compression is normal)
Spark test(Plug wires from IDI cover to plugs, removed one by one, got lots of spark)
New Fuel Filter
Throttle Position Sensor

Still runs like garbage. Any help? PLEASE!

Did you get gas right before this started to happen? We had another issue of the same matter over the weekend at the shop. Someone came to use with a mitsu spider and it just wanted to die... poured in about 5 bottles of octane booster, and went rampant on the bitch... Fixed her issue.

Might just have bad gas bud.

Ill get some fuel injector cleaner and get gas at a different place instead see what happens!Want some good injector cleaner go to Gm dealer ask for ACDelco fuel system treatment plus. #88861012. Expensive stuff but will clean it out if it`s gummed . around 17 bucks a bottle .read intsructions before you use it . Leave the cheap stuff on the shelf at Crappy Tire. Going to a different filling station ,go to Shell or Petro Canada. they put additives into help keep it running smooth as well.
Good luck Muff

Well my dad bought me Motomaster Injector Cleanr, got gas somewhere else and put it in, no difference yet, the fuel pump i put in last week however, made it a bit better, like it will run fine when its going now, its still hard to start thoguh and smokes when it does, black smoke, that smells like raw gas

front oxygen sensor is detecting too much fuel. are you sure you did not bump something when you did yor plugs .maybe double check things . everything went for a crap as soon as you did the plugs so it would make one think you`ve accidentally disturbed something

Everything has been checked lol, i just cant figure out whats wrong, it seems when i shut the car off fuel still goes into the cylinders and when i start the car back up i have to hold the pedal down and it smokes black and smells like gas.....could a leaking injector be the problem? Putting gas into the engine after i shut the car off?

why and how long have you had to floor it to get it to start. before this prob started or since it started acting up ? how`s the fuel pressure regulator. you say pump has been changed already
Is it oem ? Aftermarket pumps should be left at the market just like injector cleaner from Canadian tire. Smell raw fuel when you start it ,no kidding when you mash it to get it going ....lol get a fuel pressure check done just for kicks. could be as you stated an injector hanging open

The Fuel Pressure Regulator was purchased new a year ago from NAPA, so i doubt it would be that. Yeah OEM Pump it is in there now, I have had to put the pedal down for about a month now to start it......otherwise it just keeps cranking and wont turn over......and a shop wanted $100 to get a fuel pressure test, that is way too much.......how can i tell myself if its an injector problem?
