HELP!!! Sentra 2001 ECU Problemsjcorvera 05-23-2008, 02:09 PM Hi, In past days my 01 Sentra has a head work to repair it. The cars goes hot and the head was damaged, i've changed head and all the necessary but in the shop, the guy says i need a new ecu from the Nissan dealer wich need to be programmed for my car specially, he said because the old ecu has two problems: 1) a 20 degrees of difference in the spark timing and 2) don't show code information (to diagnostic). I think i can buy one used of the same model and year but he said no becuase i need a new one only from the dealer. It this true? Thanks JR slideways... 05-23-2008, 06:31 PM im assuming you have the 1.8 liter i dont know why a used one wouldnt work off the top of my head, i cant imagine nissan would spend extra to have VIN specific programming on a gas saver compact. nismo_pilot 06-10-2008, 06:01 PM if it is equipped with the Nissan Anti-theft System or NATS, youll have to have the ecu re-coded to the car, which can be done for around 20 bucks vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
