86 gmc pickup

i have a 86 gmc 3/4 ton truck, it has been misfiring/hesitating and stalling on acceleration. i have changed the spark plug and wires, rotor and distr. cap and it still is acting up. at a loss and need help!!

I assume this a carb truck? It needs the most fuel under acceleration so make sure fuel filter is clean. Could also be a carb issue (power valve, accel pump) or even a bad ignition coil.

Fuel filter is very likely. My Caprice had the exact same problem. The filter's located in the cylinder looking shape at the front of the carb where the fuel line goes in. Undo the fuel line, then the larger nut that the fuel line threaded into. Be careful there will be fuel leaking out and there will also be a spring that will be pushing on the filter. Take the old one out, put the new one in, tighten everything back up and you're good to go. Filters are very cheap (a couple of dollars).
