Right front click, LOUD whine, clunk

Hi, I just want to thank Automotive forum and it's members. I found AF on Google after enteriing my problem on the search engine. After reading several threads with similar problems I was able to bypass much expensive trial and error experianced by other members and fix the problem for $15. My 1993 s10 Blazer would start clicking from the right front when going down the road then if I let off of the gas it would make a very loud whine until I slowed to an almost stop then it would clunk and stop. It might not do it again for a day, or it might do it again within 5 mi. It only did it in 2WD and I found that I could stop it without the painful whine and clunk by bumping it into hi 4WD and then out again. I figured that it was trying to partially engauge the front end but couldn't figure out why. Turns out that it was a $15 transfer case switch located on top of the transfer case. It is a vacuum switch with 3 vaccuum lines that plug into the top. The switch has a check ball that can stick. In my case it stuck open and was feeding the actuator just enough vacuum to partially engage the right hub. Five minutes, a 7/8 wrench and a couple skinned knuckles (it's tight) and the problem is solved. I sure am glad that I found AF. It just saved me hundreds of dollars in trial and error.
Thanks to All
Dan
