gm fuel line release

1998 Bravada. I'm pulling the tank to change the pump. I've got everything loose except the center vent-line off the pump. Is this one I need a release tool for? I read elsewhere on here that if you pull and twist it, it will come off but I really don't want to bust anything.

I bought a tool from NAPA which wouldn't fit (not enough room to get it in there. I finally got it off using a screwdriver to work the catches past the lock ring.

Some use a two side finge squese type coupler on vent line.

No tool required for the vent (center ) pipe.

It has a circular clamp type of fitting that you just need to push off over the vent pipe lip.
The circular part of the fitting is somewhat flexible, so after you twist it off, you can reshape it back to circular.

The feed line (3/8), and the return (5/16) gas lines have the plastic sqeeze fittings that you pinch together, push in then pull out. No tools required for those either.

Napa sells a set of plastic ring tools for most GM gas line applications (needed them for my '97 Sunfire), but they won't help here as you need to compress the plastic squeeze thingies, not expand them.
