Hey guys, iknow this is are eagle/mitsubishi forum but everyone seems to help out alot better here.

NOW THIS IS WHAT ANOTHER FORUM ON YAHOO HAS SAID ABOUT MY NEW THREAD I HAVE POSTED.

Now the car went to a garage today, they checked every sensor with there computer, checked fuel pressure, vacuums and could not find anything. The garage said the front 3 plugs are not even really sparking at idle, they do not start to spark correctly until about 2000 rpms when bringing the rpms up slow. So they determined that the front head jumped timing!! Is this possible? on a interferance motor?

Tomarrow i am going to pull the 2 top timing covers and see if the 2 marks on the cam pullys line up with the marks on the heads.

Here is whats new, distributor 1 year ago, just changed is plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter, pcv valve.

What makes me think that its not the timing is about 3 months ago it started doing this same problem but not as bad and all i did was change the plugs and the problem went away for a little while.

REPLY TO 1ST COMMENT:I forgot to mention the egr valve was checked and working fine. Now when you let the car sit overnight and start it up cold it runs almost normal with little to no studder, but the warmer the car gets the worse the studder gets!!!

REPLY TO 2ND COMMENT:I just rechecked the vacuum myself and i do not see any cracked or hear any leaking, the garage put alot of new hoses on just to assure that was not the problem.

I will ask the garage tomarrow if they remember what the fuel pressure was, they did say it was good but you never know. I really cannot check the fuel pressure myself due to nothing i have will connect to the line going into the fuel rail.

HERE IS ONE REPLY

It is possible for timing to jump but I agree with you, it is unlikely, and also easily enough to check, Ignition component could be faulty ( I believe the distributer simply houses the cam and crank pulse generator, then sends this info to the comp and then comp sends coil control signal) , or computer has an internal failure, I assume they did not find any stored codes. Does the engine operate correctly w/ cold or is this all the time. also check EGR function, if the engine has any kind of vacuum leak affecting cylinders on the front bank this could cause a misfire under light throttle conditions, during w/o throttle computer goes to a rather rich a/f so a vacuum leak will not be so apparent.

AND HERE THE SECOND ONE SO FAR

I dont believe only the front one jumped time..

Only thing thats affects 3 cylinders not firing would be a vacuum leak,if they're correct in their assumption.

Recheck the fuel pressure, pressure should be betwen 47-51PSI...maybe have a lean misfire going on here due to a fuel pump problem

Thanx Guys

Eric

Here is what else i did.

converter not plugged was also checked, forgot to mention that also

o2 sensors are working fine, car really falls on its face when you unplug the o2 sensor..

I still have not checked the compression yet
