I have a 1999 Chevy Blazer 2 door 4x4. There is a squeling noise while drivng. The front brakes and rear brakes are new and the rear rotors are new...so I'm 100% it isn't the warning indicators. What else could it be? How can i diagnose? Thank you.

What speed or brakes on or off?

Does noise change with engine speed or with car speed?

Noise is when the car is driving and no brakes applied. It seems to be when at slow speeds, but I t could just be I cannot hear it at higher speeds...

Get someone with a good trained ear in it and when going straight down the road 25-40 MPH turn the steering wheel a little to the left and then to the right and let us know if noise changes when wheel turned a little.

I give that a try on my way home from work. I will post the results tonight, thanks.

Okay so there was not noise on the way home, but this morning the noise was back. Turning the steering wheel did not affect the noise. I do seem to hear it on both sides of the vehicle, but doesn't seem to be coming from under the car....seems like it is coming from the rear wheels...

Does noise change with engine speed RPM or car spreed MPH?

Seems to get quiter the faster I drive.

I also realized it has a pause...squel, squel, squel - few second pause - then squel again

I would run it by a repair shop and ask them to listen to it.
A good trained ear may know what it is.
Good luck

Check and make sure the rear disc brake shield(s) are not rubbing on either rotor. Also, depending on where you live, these sheilds rust out rather quickly, and kind of tear apart and rub and make squelling noise because of it rubbing on the rotor as the truck is moving.
