2002 se oil plug boltfy171 05-05-2008, 08:17 PM oil plug will not unscrew, head of bolt rounded off, ? can the oil plug be drill out with easy out have new bolt ,have to remove oil pan to do anything thanks frank rhandwor 05-05-2008, 09:22 PM Craftsman,Irwin and other companies make a set of extractors for stripped bolts. I have a set of blue point they work very well for this purpose. Channel locks or a pipe wrench may also work but I would buy a set of extractors. Napa,Pep Boys and other parts stores carry them. You can also file the head down to a smaller size. Johnny Mullet 05-06-2008, 06:49 AM A small pipe wrench usually works for me. Andrew1941 05-07-2008, 03:56 PM I had the same problem, unfortuantely self induced! I got pissed off and told the wife to get an oil change done by someone else! The mechanic took a pipe wrench and spun the bolt out in two seconds. I felt pretty dumb after that, but I didn't forget that trick! rhandwor 05-07-2008, 06:41 PM The parts stores sell new bolts after you take the old one out. tartersauce 05-07-2008, 07:18 PM The parts stores sell new bolts after you take the old one out. A Good Pair of ViseGrips and a new Oil pan bolt. If you have no luck getting the drain plug off - You can get a hand pump and suck out the oil from the dipstick tube, but the oil must be HOT HOT. It wont suck all of it out tho "Half a Quart left or so", but you never get it all out anyway with the plug. Hand pump 6 bucks with the small tubing. Hot oil isnt fun so be smart. fy171 05-08-2008, 02:00 AM OK got it out had tried vise grip and pipe wrench twice and all it did was slip off the bolt ,tried again today used pipe wrench after a couple of times it started to move got the bolt out and replace with new one, glade i didn't have to remove oil pan thanks for the reply frank mundy5 05-09-2008, 10:18 AM congrats! pipe wrenches are very useful in situations like this. so2315 05-11-2008, 02:08 AM FUMOTO Valve young grass hopper!!!! http://rs-scooby.com/albums/oil/fumoto.sized.jpg http://www.dieselsite.com/ProductImages/valveanimation.gif vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
