Hi,

need help. I have a 2000 GMC Jimmy with 129k miles on it. I am having problem starting it in the morning, it will crank but engine wont start. It will though after about 5 to 10 times. I can hear the pump whining when the ignition is on. On days when I will immediately jump start it, I will start. I dont have a problem the whole day once I get it started, the problem is the following morning again.

Battery is new. Went to a local shop and explained to the mechanic the problem. He did performed a charging system test (baterry, alternator and starter) and after 1 hour he said that I am leaking 3 amps and needs to do an electrical test because i might have an electrical short.

Need your opinion....thanks.

It could be flow fuel pressure or a weak battery.
I would fix the amp draw first.
3 amps leak will kill battery overnight.
Let us know how it goes.
