Hello

I have the original battery that was in my 2001 camry. I need to replace it.
Do you suggest I get a battery from the dealer or can i use one from an auto parts store.

Thank you

Aftermarket batteries are just as good if not better in my opinion. Just remember to buy the correct class/size, look for high cold crank amps (CCA), don't buy a battery that was manufactured more than six months ago, and get the best warranty you can find. Scroll to 6A-F "WHAT DO I LOOK FOR IN BUYING A NEW BATTERY?" in this link for more info: http://type2.com/library/electrip/batfaq.htm

Hello

I should have told you I was a 63 year old female. I went to the site you suggested and I am more confused as ever.

Thanks for you help though.

Do not buy the battery from a dealer unless you want to pay more than twice what's needed.

The short answer - buy your battery at an auto parts store.

Or go to Sears automotive. I have had good luck with Sears batteries and they will install it for you.

I too, have had great luck with Sears batteries. I replaced my Toyota battery last year with a Sear's battery. A year later I was having starting problems and it was a defective battery. They replaced the battery with no questions asked! (I think it's full replacement for 3 years!) This is the 1st time I ever had a defective battery from Sears, but they made it right by replacing it immediately! :-)

JH32552 - That says a lot for the Sears warranty but that's about it.
