97 blazer overheating

my blazer is overheating. i cant drive it more than 5 miles and it overheats and loses all the water/coolant. Seems to be leaking from underneath, or possibly from the overflow. I just had two transmissions put in it, and the shop was suppose to put in a new thermostat. But I dont know if they really did. Also, my air conditioner blows hot air. It worked fine last year. Could it be possible that these problems may be from the transmission work, and they screwed something else up? I need to fix this overheating problem TODAY! Someone help me out! :confused:

hello, 1st u need to verify leak. is it coming from over flow or some thing else.if its the over flow then could be thermo, fans,ect.not sure trans shop
had any thing to do with problem & would not tell u if they did.check the basics 1st.GOOD LUCK

When I found mine leaking from under the rear of the motor, it turned out to be a bad lower intake manifold gasket. Don't wait, if you overheat the motor bad enough, the motor will be severely damaged$$$$$.

I agree with Chris. You need to get a radiator pressurizer. Take it up to 15lbs. and check for the leaks. I would start looking at the lower intake first. Hoping that you find it to be good. Then check the rest of your cooling system for leaks. Can you tell us where under the motor is it leaking from. Front, Rear, Left, Right. Let us know your findings.

I have same problem mine overheats and leaks from what appears to be lower rear passenger side of motor, near distributor
