I have a 4.3 liter 2001 blazer with 137K miles. Recently the car has been badly bogging down upon acceleration. It happens on and off usually but happening more and more often. It has also failed to start on me once or twice, however eventually did after pumping the gas. I have checked the fuel pressure and I'm getting nearly 60lbs of pressure. I have replaced the fuel filter, air filter, and the two fuses that control the air pump. I have also checked the hoses to the pump for leaks. THe code is reading P0410, other forums I have searched tell me to replace the air pump. I'm not wanting to do that because I know my air pump is running as I can hear it when I'm under the car. The repair guide doesn't even say anything about there being an air pump for this model but that's what everyone refers to it as. I'm out of ideas and just would like so help. I've been thinking about unhooking all the hoses to the pump to see if anything is lodged in them, however I can't feel anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

THanks

First of all, Welcome. Couple things come to mind. When was the last time you had a tuneup? Plugs, Cap, Rotor, and Wires. Your fuel pressure you say is nearly 60psi. You should have 61-65 lbs of pressure. Engine running should be 60-66 lbs pressure, pending on the load. Ignition switch off, your pressure should not drop below 55psi within 5 minutes. If it drops below 55psi before 5 minutes. You’ll need to check to see if your injector or Fuel regulator are leaking. If no leaks are found, Then do a full fuel pump test. A quick test is to block off the return line and see if fuel pressure comes up to 75-85 lbs. Post back your findings.

I think you might want to check your catalytic convertor, sounds like its getting plugged up...I think the p0410 is unrelated to your problem..even if you remove the pump from the vehicle it would still run fine
