need advice on brand of scanner to buy

hi i am looking for some advice on what brand /model of scanner i can buy thats not going to run me over 500 but will read all the dtcs /// trans codes, body code /engine codes and etc been looking around on ebay and found plenty of scanners that say they do all p0 p1 p2 p3 and u1 codes but nothing about b codes or trans codes any help would be nice need to get myself a scanner soon..thanks

how well does the autotap work for you i have a laptop and a handheld pda so neither of those are issues i just want to make sure i am buying something that is worth the money . does your auto tap scan p0 p1 p2 p3, b and u codes if so thats the scanner im looking for. due to the fact i work on many newer cars for freinds and family it always helps knowing what im getting into before i start working for example i can scan a car with a trans problem and tell whoever i can work on it or they need to go to a shop cuase i can't fix that problem .thanks

Mine is old, the 1st version and yes it diagnoses transmission & ABS codes that I've had issues with.
You might check with them to be sure it'll take care of all the needs you require...I'm still waiting for them to be able to diagnose Dodge/Cummins ECM & PCM before I update.
