throttle body help

just wondering if anybody has ever heard of the butterfly restrictor being taken off and the problems that occur with this mod? and if the piece has any effect on the engine? or is it just another piece that really serves no purpose! any help will be greatly appreiceated.....

I'm not sure what your asking. If you mean remove the throttle plate I believe that will tell the mass air for more air or a WOT demand.

well I'm not sure if all the throttle body plates are the same on all models or engine size's but mine is a 4.3 w and the throttle body has a small scope or plate on top of the blade that i think regulates how much air goes into the throttle. if I am wrong then please let me know. but i was wondering if the scoop that is being held on by two tack welds and a rivot was taken off and the hole's were filled in would it create any problems?

If it is on there and OEM and is not lose.
Leave it as is.
Always clean them with carb/TBI cleaner and a plastic tooth brush when you are in there.
