97 WS - Both Power Windows Out (and Rear Wiper)fdunford 04-22-2008, 01:01 PM I haven't found much using search (except to perhaps examine the wires in the door for a break). The windows started acting intermittently, and then went totally out - as did the rear wiper (although the washer solvent spray works). I suspect it's some kind of wiring/connector issue. Any ideas on what I could look at? LeSabre97mint 04-22-2008, 11:18 PM fdunford It sounds like your window relay is bad. Try changing it. As for your rear wipper, the shaft that goes through the window gets corroded and gets stuck. This could be your problem??? I was able to take mine apart and clean it. Not the easiest job. Replacing the whole motor is easier. Regards, Dan fdunford 04-23-2008, 12:03 PM Dan, Thanks for the idea. I already swapped the relays that are in the fuse box located in the engine compartment (next to the battery) but that didn't solve the issue. I didn't replace any, just swapped since they are the same part number. Is the window relay in the Instrument Panel, this is the fuse / relay panel that is up under the dashboard......to the left of the driver's left foot? Any idea which one is the one I'm after? fdunford 06-12-2008, 12:28 PM RESOLVED (updated for search results). After much troubleshooting I came to the conclusion that the GEM module (aka Multifunction) looked quite suspect. I found one in a boneyard for $40 and eureka - I have windows again! The GEM module is found on the driver side, in the center stack and one must remove the lower plastic shroud that is just below the ashtray. PS - The rear wiper must have been a seperate issue as it is still not working. fdunford 06-15-2008, 08:09 PM Again for search... The rear wiper problem was also resolved. After confirming that I was getting power on the red power wire I took a trip to Auto Zone, and $52 later for a rebuilt motor, the rear wiper is working again. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
