It's a 3.1 ltr with automatic trans. Wanted all the fluids changed the other day and the service tech indicated he could not change the filter on the transmission because it was a non serviceable type. When did they start making those and why? Can you change the tranny oil? Trans shifts good and runs goods. It's every now than then it makes a funny noice coming our of park to reverse. Any concerns? No tranny leaks.

You need to go to some one else, he has no clue.

All trannys are serviceable. Your trans will not have a dipstick to check the level with but it still has a pan which can be removed for draining and I'm sure a filter which can be changed.

You can check the fluid level, however you would have to go under the car to remove the level plug on the passenger side of the Transmission and where the passenger side axle are connected.

Engine must be running at normal operating temperature with all four wheel on jack stands.

Have a pan under the transmission in case it was overfilled.

Again the engine must be running before removing the level plug or fluid will defninetly come out. Then you can remove the level plug using a 10mm socket.

If no fluid comes out, pour about less than a pint of Dexron III ATF. Then pour in small increments until you see some fluid. When it stops draining out, you can reinstall the plug

Dip sticks cost money, also they want you to take it to the dealer.
