I Have a 1995 blazer, bought it used so no history. Tranny works good, a little slow shifing out of first when cold but other tahn that real good. Fluid is nice and pint (no burnt smell whatsoever. Problem! It seems to periodicly leak flued from the passenger side and ends up directly on the y pipe were it comes down from the engine. The bottom of the tranny is dry and shows no signs of leaks. Problem is I can't see were it is coming from?? any ideas!

Get it up on jack stands or ramps and start it up. Look at the transmission cooling lines sounds like they are leaking. They will do it only when it is running. They either rub against something or someone cuts them and puts back together with fuel hose. If so you should get transmission cooling hose and double clamp it. Better yet if they left enough put compression unions in.

Got under it last night, looks like the fuid was coming from the vent line which comes out right over the corner of the passanger side manifold. Looks like it is fastnend somehow to the fill tube, like tie rapped, is that were it is supposed to be, seems odd they would leave it right over the manifold. I have extened it out awy from it for now till i can get it looked at. I assume the cause could be a multitude of things however it only does it periodicly and in small amounts.
I have checked the cooler lines and i sure its not them as it was coming out on the manifold.

It is blowing fluid out the vent.
Main causes of that is transmission slipping and getting hot.
Is the transmission over full on fluid?
Does it have the fliper lock type dip stick?
What kind of fluid in it?
Has it ever been serviced?
What is the mileage ?
Any engine or transmission codes?

Yes it has a flipper on the dip stick. I have no history on the truck as I just bought it. Truck has 220 KMS on it and no trailer hitch. Looks like the tranny may have been changed and they left the vent tube tie rapped to the fill tube, i assume it shoud be ot the bottom like others I have seen. Fluid is nice and pink with abolutly no burnt smell, have no idea what type it is. Checked the fluid after it had been running for some time and seemed only naturally warm no way hot. It shows no codes on the dash, engine or otherwise I ssume thats what you were reffering to. Transmission level seems to be just over the full mark when warm.?? Also no sign of slippage when you are driving it. If I take it to a tranny shop, how will they check it??

If you go to a transmission shop make sure they are a good one.
Some are rebuild happie and stay away from the big chain stores.
I would have a good repair shop look at the transmission with a good transmission capable scanner.
When you get there ask what they charge for checking.
Most of them get a 1/2 to 1 hr check out time.
Codes do not always shouw up on check engine light.
Good luck and let us know how it goes.
