I have a 93 V6 Camry and both brake lights went out. I checked the fuses and bulbs and they were all good. Any ideas on where to go from there?
Thanks

Start by checking the brake light switch on the brake pedal. That will most likely check out OK, or you would have trouble moving the gear selector out of Park. Next move to the loom of wires inside the trunk by the driver's side trunk hinge. Open up that loom and look for frayed or broken wires there. Repair any breaks or frayed wires. Notice the color of wires leading to the brake lights bulbs and pay particular attention to those wires. The wires inside that loom have a tendancy to fray and break over time, from all the flexing they are exposed to, every time the trunk is opened or closed.

My husband and I had the same trouble with ours, and thanks to the forum, we found that it was the brake light failure sensor box, which is located in the trunk, on the driver's side, in back of moulded carpet. It's a little yellow box (1x3x3 in. approx.) Be careful about taking it to Toyota dealers, as this could cost an arm and a leg, but we found one in the junkyard for 15.00! Would be interested in knowing your results after you hopefully resolve your issue! Good luck!
