After a long break from modeling, Iīm back with this one.. It started out as the regular S1.. but since Iīve never seen a Pikes Peak version of this in the "Scale Automotive World" ( 8) ) I decided to build it :)
I have been working the whole day with the front of the car.. and itīs still not finished so donīt be to hard on me..
And ofc it will be a full detail build :)
Hereīs a picture of the real deal.

And hereīs the model so far.

Since Iīm having trouble uploading pics I will only post this picture. But if anybody have any GOOD and FREE image-upload website that would really help.. THANKS ! :)

Hi,
this one picture looks cool, but it you compare your original photo and your model, you can see, that the A-post of your model are steeper that the ones of the original car.
The reason ist, that the windscreen of the S1 including A-posts came not from the Coupe, but of the Audi 80.

Looks like you have made a great start on this quite tricky (I guess) project.
I really like the PP cars and event and I'd love to do the 405 one day.
EDIT: BTW I would recommend photobucket.com for image hosting. I have always found it relatively easy, fast and reliable.

Don't be so picky Micha ;) j/k

I´ve fixed the two other pics so here they come :)
I will rework the edges of the front since they are to sharp if I compare to some pics of the real one.. but other than that I´m pretty happy.. I will also work on the "sideskirt" under the doors.. it is to steep.. and thinking of it all.. I will perhaps fix the thing with the windscreen-frame :)

Hey Rickard,
cudos on the choice of subject. Iīd never do this monster-conversion.But it looks very promising for starters. Any thoughts on the wheels, yet? What will you do to get this paint job? Make decals or paint everything?

Thanks :)
About the wheels.. I will try to find something similar to the Speedlines they used on this one.. Or I will try to rebuild the ones I have from the box. :)
And for the paintjob.. I will try to do it white with the red, grey and black and perhaps a few decals from the box like the "Audi"-decals and some of those.. but since I donīt have anyone that can make me the red, grey and black decals I will try to paint it.. and it will be difficult.. but what the h*ll.. ;)'

Hi Rickard,
I'm happy to see you're converting the S1 project into a PPHC project !!
The start looks really good, I would only notice you didn't give enough angle to the front spoiler which runs to the extremity of the new spoiler skirt, do you see what I mean ?
I must have some good pics of that car in my books and references, let me a piece of time to check that...
there is also a nice website with a lot of PPHC S1 pictures, name should be audipassion or something like that, maybe a google search will find that.
I also have 1/43 decals I could scan if that can help you :naughty:
Good luck for next steps, I'll be folowing your build :grinyes:

Do you mean the one thatīs fitted to the bumper? I have been thinking about that and the angle.. itīs a bit to steep right..?
That would really help if you could fix some decals. :)
Do you know where I can fix that kind of rims? the Speedline rims.?
Thanks !

Yes I meant the one fitted to the bumper...
I've still been too busy to look at my books these days but I will, cos' I must have some usefull pics...
For the decals I will try to scan them, if you can rescale them to 1/24 and print them you'll have a precious help to build your model I think...
The rims are available in the Quattro Reji models, unfortunately not availbale alone... :disappoin
But maybe Scuderia Italia Lab and their future S1 will be able to supply wheels alone... :naughty: :grinyes:
I already thought to cast mine (from the sport Quattro) but must admit I'm a bit affraid to loose them in a failure casting !! :runaround:
your work on this model is for the moment simply outstanding and if I can help you go on and achieve the model count with me !

Mmmm pay attention guys because the S1 PPHC that races during such events as Goodwood festival (where the 1st pic of the thread has been taken I guess ?) is not exactly similar to the version that raced in 87... I noticed that when building the 1/43 model., some different or missing stickers...

I have worked alot on the front and the front splitter is starting to take shape.. I guess it is about 70% finished at the moment.
I have also worked a bit on the wingsides and this is how it looks at the moment. I made them a bit smaller after I took the picture though.. looks better now. :)

and I have started to raise the roof.. I will try to make this car as close as the original as I can. :D
