are all wheel bearings the same for the dana 30? mine failed for my 94 cherokee with the dana 30. i bought one for my old dana 30 that i had in my 89 wrangler, but i sold it and now have the spare. would the wheel bearing that i had for the 89 wrangler work for the 94 cherokee? are all the d30's the same?
thanks

I am pretty sure the Cherokee and Wrangler front axle wheel bearings are the same. Given each bearing costs $150++ its worth it to try.

It's the year difference that's the problem. In 1990 xjs switched from a tapered roller bearing hub to a ball bearing hub. You have to swap the rotors to the same vintage as the hubs to get them to swap.

I don't know for sure when the yj hubs switched, or if they did at all, but the 89 will have the old style hubs and your 94 will be the new ones.

It is a worthwhile upgrade to switch to the OLDER style hubs. Tapered roller bearings have a much higher thrust load compacity than ball bearings, so the old ones will outlast the new ones. So get the other hub and 2 new rotors for a pre 89 xj and you'll be golden.
