Ford Taurus 1998 Transmissionddsunil 03-03-2003, 12:01 AM My Ford Taurus 98 broke down and when I had it checked out they said that the transmission blew up and it would take US $4000 odd to repair it. I live in Canada. Can anyone suggest a place in Windsor, Ontario, Canada where I can get it repaired for a lesser price. Does it really cost that much? And also I have 150,000 miles on that. Would you suggest repairing it or going for a new car. At that many miles even after repairing this can I expect any more major problems?? Thanks Sunny Ringo 03-03-2003, 08:58 AM Geez buddy, that is horrible! They are asking a lot, usually a tranny swap costs $2000! Aroud here I see folks selling 98 Tauruses for $4000. You will have to do more extensive repairs to that car, with that much miles I think you got your money's worth. Unless you know how to fix it yourself, get a new car. MARTIN KORDOS 06-02-2004, 01:10 PM im from london and i would sugest going to mr transmission if your going to repair it .is it gone competly or is it the seals? if it still drives but it jergs when shifting i would spend the 80 bucks at mr trans to have it analized it could be just the speed sensor vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
