Service Vehicle Soon Light on only when day lights are running?!?! 00REDgrandamGT 04-13-2008, 05:43 PM
Hello all! Im new to the forum, and really need some help. I own a 2000 Grand AM GT 3.4ltr V6. The recent issue I been having with the car is that something funny is going wrong with the electrical system it goes alittle something like this: DAY TIME: Start the vehicle, engage Drive or Reverse, headlights flicker a few times & headlights then shut off, service vehicle soon light turns on. Driver side window will not roll down. NIGHT TIME: At night one headlight is out, headlights do not flicker, both headlights work in HI-BEAM position. service vehicle soon light does not engage. driver side window will not roll down. I took the car to midas to see if they could tell me whats wrong but they would not touch the car. I then took the car to another automotive shop and they ran a code scanner on the car and said multiple codes came up. they reset them and tried a couple times more and different codes read, resest again and no codes read out. As I said it only seem to be going nuts when its daytime. I cover the day/night senor and it stops. yet the window still wont roll down. Has anyone else delt with this problem? I got a quote just to diaganose the problem and it was going to be over $1000 which I dont have. if anyone has suggestion it would be mighty helpful, thanks in advance! xeroinfinity 04-13-2008, 08:28 PM Welcome to AF. Its a burnt out high beam in one of the headlights, change it and your SVS will most likley go away. The DRL's use the high beams, if this doesnt solve it then you'll need a high quality scan tool to find the troubles. Your window, it's probley coincidental, try wiggling the switch a few time. If that doesn't help, remove the switch bezel and check the plug in , make sure its clean(these tend to get corrsion on the copper terminals) and pluged in all the way. If that doesnt solve it check this out... http://www.a1electric.com/grandam.htm Related Links Enter the largest automotive community on the planet! |
