i have a 94 GMC Sierra 2 door/extended cab step side 2 wd 5.0 engine. it won't start just by turning the key. the regulator on the carberator isn't pumping fuel to it. the fuel pump is BRAND NEW. just changed it. we've changed the regulator and it didn't work either. if you pour gas on the carb, it'll start and stay running. keep a good idle and everything. when you kill it, it won't start again. just turn over. no service engine light or any thing. any help??

Welcome to AF. Check the fuses, do you have 12v to the injectors, hear the fuel pump prime, post back results

we've changed the fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, and just got through changing the map sensor. all the fuses are good. after changing the map sensor though, the truck DID start a few times. and then stopped starting normally again. now we can't figure it out. please note that i have wrecked it in january. but everything that was messed up was changed.

Do you have 12v to the injectors, does the FP prime? again!

about the injectors, idk. my brothers workin on it. from wut he said the injectors are fine. and as far as the fuel pump goes, it doesn't prime. it kicks on when you turn the key on and builds pressure but doesn't shoot out in the carb. we changed the map sensor and it started right up a couple of times and then stopped. we called a mechanic who was having the same problem with a truck like mine and he said it was the coolant temp sensor. so we changed it. still no luck...

ok. about $600 in parts not needed later, we changed the idle control module or something like that and its running perfect now!!!
