im no luos, but i did go to the trackChiquae07 04-10-2008, 01:56 AM and found out what the slow auto se ran for shits and giggles. to launch, i did the brake + gas method at about 1800rpms. minimal wheel spin, and launched like a bat outta hell it seemed. it seemed that i outlaunced every car that i 'went up against' but then 50mph came and i was left in the dust. this was my best run of the day. first time at the track with the car, so i got used to it a little. first run i ran a 17.8, so i think a 17.5 was a big difference too. i also diddnt see any faster r/t's that day either. i had my window down for the run, and the announcer guy was like woah, look at the reaction time on that nissan. at this track a perfect r/t = .000 rt = .052 60' = 2.650 330 = 7.456 1/8th = 11.367 MPH = 63.47 1000 = 14.698 1/4th = 17.537 MPH = 79.57 this is on an auto b15 sr20de with a place racing cai, hks catback, rota 16'' slipstreams full weighted with spare and everything else i had in the car. i do have a code for a bad o2 sensor, so im told that if i replace it it'll make a big difference. suppostally stock auto b15 se's are suppost to run high 16s. i seriously doubt that an o2 sensor will pick up a second lol. this track was at an altitude of 650ish ft above sea level, so i dont know the correction formula or if they did it for me already or if its even worth doing. autocrossing opener is in a week. cant wait for the twisties :) GForce957 04-10-2008, 03:00 AM Damn, I thought you would run better times then that, maybe something other then an 02 sensor is to blame. Either way, its def a blast to get out there and have some fun. Did your 60 foots get any lower then that, cause 2.6 is pretty high. Hope you had fun and plan on hitting it up again, always cool to see what times you can get. Polygon 04-10-2008, 03:34 AM Yeah, that seems really low especially the 60' time. I'd check that O2 sensor. Sounds like fun you had fun despite that. Chiquae07 04-10-2008, 09:48 AM i was depressed about it, since a manual version of my car would be in the mid 15s. idk if the o2 sensor will help, as when you put the pedal to the floor, the ecu goes into an open loop. is that right? i honestly have no idea. the o2 sensor will be replaced within a month id say. Gotian 04-10-2008, 10:52 AM I dont think a manual version would push mid 15's probably more like mid 16's if your auto runs high 16's normally, manual wont make a second and a half difference unless the engines and power change so dont feel too bad. CassiesMan 04-10-2008, 03:57 PM this is on an auto b15 sr20det with a place racing cai, hks catback, rota 16'' slipstreams full weighted with spare and everything else i had in the car. i do have a code for a bad o2 sensor, so im told that if i replace it it'll make a big difference. suppostally stock auto b15 se's are suppost to run high 16s. i seriously doubt that an o2 sensor will pick up a second lol. There ya go. Changed it so your times will be better next time. Sleepr awd 04-10-2008, 07:16 PM lol at cassies Anyway, i find it unlikely that the 2.0 SR20DE is going to do mid 15's with a manual when the 03 SpecV Sentra's ran (at least a friend i had here) 15.4 or so, and that's with a limited slip to get him off the line and 2800lb? curb weight. It's good to get out there and try though, better luck next time with the imaginary turbo. Chiquae07 04-11-2008, 01:44 AM lol at cassies. maybe ill just get that thing put into my muffler, so its like Woooo Wooo! ok with seriousness though. check this out. just a stock se with a pop charger, clutch and a flywheel. i was at e-town today with a burgandy 01 se i dont know if anyone from here was there. i have a intake filter 6 puck clutch and flywheel. is [15.6] a reasonable time for my car with those mods? http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e138/da1nonlyr/DSC09992.jpg also, another person on that same board, with cai, catback, pullies, and ran a 15.6 as well. motortrend got the car to run a 16 flat stock, and there are a couple people that have hit 15.9 stock as well. im just saying its possible. i would say light rims + cai + catback = cai + flywheel + clutch. Chiquae07 04-11-2008, 01:46 AM Anyway, i find it unlikely that the 2.0 SR20DE is going to do mid 15's with a manual when the 03 SpecV Sentra's ran (at least a friend i had here) 15.4 or so, and that's with a limited slip to get him off the line and 2800lb? curb weight. should run a low 15 or so. launching that car is suppost to be a pita because of all the tq steer. give a little too much gas, and your roast the tires in 1st easy im told. get a decent set of sticky summer tires, and you could be in the high 14s with some work. also, the such low rev limit and short gears limit the car in a straight line. 1st is like 30, 2nd is like 55, its pretty crazy. really good for autox though. Gotian 04-11-2008, 10:42 AM Ive never seen a stock Spec V run a low 15's. C&D Rated it at 15.6 @ 90mph Which is strikingly similar to the burgandy one you posted up, just throwing that in there. Sleepr awd 04-17-2008, 04:17 PM did you miss the post where my friend ran 15.4 in his stock specV ?? and he definitely couldn't launch. a popcharger? isnt' that a lame form of supercharger? and he ran a 15.6? that's aweful. I really hope you can get some low 16's out of it. It'll definitely take some work. CassiesMan 04-17-2008, 05:52 PM I thought the pop charger was just JWT's fancy shmancy name for a SRI. Chiquae07 04-21-2008, 11:11 AM I thought the pop charger was just JWT's fancy shmancy name for a SRI. basically. except its just a filter with a volosity stack before the maf. Gotian 04-21-2008, 11:44 AM Yeah my friends 350Z has a popcharger on it. when I saw it im like that's just a fancy name for an intake, lol. Sleepr awd 04-22-2008, 03:07 PM 3g guys were talking about a popcharger and from the numbers and design it looked sorts like a very small light kick in the pants supercharger. Tibby guys too. I'll have to look it up. jeepgclwj 04-22-2008, 06:51 PM I have heard that for every tenth you can take off your 60' is 2 tenths off your ET... I have found that to be pretty accurate from all my slips... So if you could get that 60' down to a 2.1 or 2.2 you are easily into high 16's... Chiquae07 04-23-2008, 06:34 PM ^^well, it doesnt even matter to me anymore about the car really, just washing and waxing it now to keep the rust from spreading. for gods sake the drivers door is rusted to hell, the passeners is starting, and the door behind the drivers is starting, there is a small amount on the trunk....im getting rid of the rust bucket come june. GForce957 04-24-2008, 01:40 AM what are u looking at getting? Chiquae07 04-24-2008, 09:47 AM i hate to say it, but something practical with decent gas mileage. i was looking at a miata, then thought about the snow. mini cooper would be nice, but then again snow, so im looking towards a bug eyed wrx. convert it to e85, and replace the fuel pump and injectors, and i'd have a really decent street machine. although, i wouldnt mind getting a spec-v instead of my se. im going to be driving a couple cars this weekend to see what i like and dont like. might just lease a honda fit. we'll see. rice(er) 04-30-2008, 08:56 PM time to upgrade, chiquea! edit: get a toyota! http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/images/icons/icon14.gif miata are girls' car, mini coopers are fwd, i like wrx, but weak tranny if you don't learn how to drive it. If you can't get the newer se-r, go for the old skool se-r! Chiquae07 05-01-2008, 01:55 AM time to upgrade, chiquea! edit: get a toyota! http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/images/icons/icon14.gif miata are girls' car, mini coopers are fwd, i like wrx, but weak tranny if you don't learn how to drive it. If you can't get the newer se-r, go for the old skool se-r! #1. Miatas aren't girls cars, lmao. possibly the most used car in autox by today. i honestly have my jaw drop everytime i see a 05 or newer i think the new body style is. its just perfect. underpowered rwd is a perfect platform to get used to the whole rwd thing. dont want a mustang or camaro and wrap myself around a tree... also, aftermarket parts are cheap and there are plenty of them. #2. mini coopers are fine being fwd. seeing as i have to drive in snow, i might as well get used to it. also, im used to driving fwd, so driving in the snow and rain isnt a problem. might be a different thing though as i have to drive one to see if i like them though, as the gauge cluster looks interesting. #3. wrx is awd turbo. easy power to make from them, and they control like a fwd car does in the sense of understeer. also, cant argue with the awd launch, but im looking into the fact that they are known to have 'glass transmissions'.... #4. newer 2002-2006 se-r is decent, but the aftermarket is quite lacking. nismo makes most of the parts you want anyway, with the exception of a couple things. only way to make the 02-06 quick is turbo. a couple people have gotten into the high 12s on just the turbonetics turbo kit and a couple other mods. the older se-r with the sr20de would be a good choice, but i cant find one that isnt rusted to hell and back, or doesnt have a bent chassis, or is a sr20de w/o the 5th gear pop out. its too hard to find them these days, as the 'sr20ve' guys are looking for rust free shells all the time. #5. get a toyota....the only car that i would think of getting would be the celica. this would have to be a 2000 gts model, as it has the sensor to run 87 gas and higher redline. no ae86 truenos for me. maybe if toyota actually comes out with that new version ae86 that they were suppost to come out with next year i'll hold off. we'll see. CassiesMan 05-01-2008, 10:27 AM time to upgrade, chiquea! edit: get a toyota! Unless its a Supra, I wouldn't waste a dime on a Toyota. miata are girls' car, Local guy with a turbo Miata pushing 500 at the wheels. In a car that weighs about as much as a wet fart. Your advice=fail. mini coopers are fwd Bring that MR2 down here, and I'll show you what you can do with FWD... i like wrx, but weak tranny if you don't learn how to drive it. Any car will have a weak tranny if you can't drive it, thats expected. rice(er) 05-01-2008, 02:36 PM chiquae, the only miata i wouldn't consider a girls' car is the hardtop. True convertibles = girls' car :grinno: Get a t-tops if you want the wind in your hair. chiquae, 2000+ celica gts are nice, but trust me, rwd is more fun, make sure it's a manual and you will be ftw. Oh, you can never go wrong with the mr-2, sleek design, mid-engine rwd, most of the weight is in the rear, so traction in snow is not a big deal. Well, that's my advice for ya meing. My neighbor's EXACT car! Except HER'S is a coupe not a convertible.....go figure lol! Nothing like a twin-turbo V12 AMG in the hands of a woman with newly aquired money! Nothing like a twin-turbo V12 AMG in the hands of a woman with newly aquired money! Your neighbor has their car registered in Texas...nice. Lol, I don't care if a chick drives it, a Bi turbo v12 is in no way a girls car, lol. All girls car I'm afraid...:disappoin  RaeRae1 05-01-2008, 07:14 PM +1 on the older SE-R. I have a 91 and I love it. Looking into getting turbo on it as we speak. Small and very quick. It does, however, have the 5th gear pop-out. Going to be rebuilding the transmission soon as well, but at 245,000 miles it is to be expected. rice(er) 05-03-2008, 02:58 PM meh, exotic super cars are a little different, respect. Still, it does not change my view on true convertibles. :greddy2: Chiquae07 05-03-2008, 06:54 PM chiquae, the only miata i wouldn't consider a girls' car is the hardtop. Well, that's my advice for ya meing. joo got owned on the convertible part lol. mr-2...its a good choice, but its hard to find parts for it as well. the ones i would get is the 2000+, but people are still asking an arm and a leg for them. besides, 2 seater = no no for me at the moment. i do need to be able to carry my snowboard with me, if that says anything. me being a detailing freak, i wouldnt want to put a rack on the car either. MZR_47 05-04-2008, 01:09 AM Not a big fan of the ragtop on anything really, supercar or not. Needs to be a hardtop in my mind. VR-4 spyder :) And the V12 is pretty scary seeing a woman driving that thing, though i dont see it out much. Which may be a good thing! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
