On my '99 Grand Prix GT, whenever I turn, I hear a distinct, loud, metal-on-metal squealing. At first I figured this was the brakes, but it doesn't do it at any other time (low speed, braking, et cetera). Tomorrow I'll see if it squeals while turning the wheels at a stop, and post results.

Then, is there anything special to know when changing the brakes, especially on the front? I plan on doing it soon, as mine are getting badly worn.

Thanks!

Nothing special is needed to change the brakes just be sure to bleed the fluid out of the calipers and then rebleed the system due to the fact that dirt and crud in the caliper pistons can damage the ABS if you force the fluid back into the system. If you need to replace the rotors you may have trouble taking the mounting brackets off as they are very tight and often hard to remove. A good impact wrench helps or a long cheater with at least 1/2 inch drive. Good Luck!
