I tried posting everywhere, and they all suck lol with no replies, so i know here back where my home use to be or still is, maybe i can get some answers :)

Here is the deal. Its a 1996 chrysler cirrus 2.5 v6

The car will start right up fine. When idleing you can here it miss once in a while. The minute you step on the gas the car just about dies, like its not getting fuel. You start to feather the gas and the rpms go right up just fine. But once you go to drive it, it spitts and sputters bad like not getting fuel.

I do not think its a fuel problems tho. Fuel pressure seems good, what i mean by seems good is because i do not have a pressure checker so i pumped it in a 20 oz bottle. I can fill the bottle up within probably 6 cranks maybe, so good fuel?

I changed plugs, wires, fuel filter, cap and rotor. Distributor was changed 1 year ago with a brand new one due to the car just dieing completly.

Oh also the check engine light is on, but only code its throwing is a multipile missfire code.

Thank you

Eric

EDIT- erased codes the other day, light came back on just trying to drive around the block. Put my code reader on and P0440 pops up. Thats the only code that popped up.

P0440 - evaporative emissions control system malfunction

Would this cause my problem?

EGR Valve, and yes it can give really bad idle problems.

Watching that video, seems like your valve is clogged and shot to hell. I would say get a new one, if not, just clean this one up.

Egr valve is working properly. I assume, it is moving freely back and forth like it should when giving it gas. Not stuck if thats what your thinking?

I would still, pull it off and clean it up a bit. That or you have vac leak around that are IMO.

Did you change your PCV valve? As simple and silly as that sounds, that solved the exact same problem my Firebird had for a while... Worth a shot since a PCV valve is like 2 dollars and 2 minutes to replace. lol...

I would be checking different sensors. It also could be a spark problem. The plugs maybe not be firing well enough to ignite the fuel under load.

Just thinking out loud, pcv and maf.

I just got home from work, going to try some different stuff and let you know.

also forgot to mention, the studdering started doing it little by little. Would only do it once in awhile going down the highway. Now it is no bad you cannot really even drive it.

That sounds like the same exact thing as my bros truck. And it was the spark plug wires. But those are new. But your symptoms are exact as his.

Well, new pcv valve, took egr vavle off, no build up, valve moves nice and smooth with no play, not rotted, falling apart. The vacume to the egr is good. Car still f#@cked up :(.

reading the book to see what sensor is what.

even tho i do not have a fuel pressure gauge checker. All i did is what was i said above. Now this is what someone else said on yahoo questions about my issues.

The fuel pump needs to be able to maintain 45 psi in order for the system to work properly. With no load on the pump it will still move lots of fuel but if the pump is weak it won't build the pressure needed. If you can, check the fuel pressure.

Also i did some reading, the MAP sensor could cause my problems? When i unplug the sensor while car is running i see no difference in engine. Maybe its bad?

Ok, update. MAP sensor is good, works fine, obviously TPS works fine checked that to.

I did notice when the car sits all day and is completly cold it just about runs normal with almost no studder, but the hotter the car gets the worse the problems gets.

Hmmm... This is strange indeed... I can't think of what else it could be really... ECU problems maybe?

Wow, this is racking my brain. Is your MAF good? If it is then I don't think the ECU is out of the question.

Wait......evaporative control system? Do our cars have a black canister that is hooked out the emissions? A carbon canister I think its called? Can someone correct me?

Yes they do. All that does is absorb the fuel vapors coming from the gas tank and lets them get sucked into the intake. That wouldn't cause any problems that I can think of.

Ya those usually have charcoal in them but won't cause issues unless they're blocked up and the fumes are returning into the system and I've never heard of that happening.

So confused from the post, was the FP good?

Yeah if its clogged it will cause teh CEL to throw the EVAP Emmisions code.

Yeah this 1 died last year in the driveway and would not start again. The camshaft sensor went bad (common from what i here). That sensor is built into the distributor :( So i had to buy a brand new 1 for $160 and it started right up and ran fine with no problems until the other day. lol
