Can the oil pan on a '97 Cav 2.2 be removed with the motor still in the car? If so, are there any things to watch out for?
Thanks,

Yes it can, But from what I remember. It is not easy. I was going to replace my on my 96 2.2...but I was going to wait until I have more time. Check with AutoZone.com ....they have a great repair/how to section and it does cover replacing the pan. I need to do mine one day !!!
Good Luck ...JJ

Thats all fine and dandy... however, DO NOT RE-FILL your pan with oil for atleast 2 days. On the back of the GM sealant it says to wait 24 hrs, we waited 36 and when the pan leaked we found out that it still wans't fully cured.

So plan on waiting a good 2+ days on letting the RTV cure. The ones sold at autozone and Advance black or copper will not hold either. You need to purchase the GM or chrysler brand. $25 / tube it sucks, i know. We went through 3 of them trying to fix the damn issue.
