to buy or not to buy

hello,
just got into an accident with my ford explorer, now want to buy something bigger, expedition. a friend of a friend is selling his 2001 5.4l v8 xlt i believe with 77k miles. one thing he told me that is that the car had a rebuilt tranny. to me it sounds very early, only 77k miles. what can you guys say about expeditions and rebuilt trannys. how long will the car last and would this be a good buy?

It should last if it was done right.The drawback with the 5.4 is that it is a gas hog and terrible on MPGs

Yeah, by nature, expeditions were bad with trannys. So if it was fixed correctly, it should run fine. I'm on the same boat as frederick, gas is too expensive to get an expo.:2cents:
