94 PAU Intake Manifold Bolts

Hello, I am rebuilding a '94 PAU with S/C and have replaced the LIM gaskets but now the bolts for the LIM I am putting back just seem to spin at about 40 ft-lbs on the torque wrench. I coated each bolt with teflon tape at the bottom of the thread and red lock-tite at the top of the threads. Some posts imply that on other years of the PA that the bolts are single use and should be replaced (self-expanding type?).The Autozone webiste recommeded on many threads says as much but for a different year of a non-S/C model. The Autozone website also recommended, again on a different model non-S/C PA, that lock-tite be used around each bolt hole on the LIM before the gaskets are put in place. Should I have done this for my '94? What is/are the torque numbers for the used bolts? New bolts? and what is the torque sequence for this models LIM?

Thanks in advance

Common mechanical sense goes a long way here. First check the depth of the "threaded" bore from the top of the deck. Then, add the thickness of your new plenum, S/C, or after market intake. Check your actual size and thread count. Make sure the bolts you choose don't bottom out prematurely. If they feel rough going in, chase the threads with the appropriate tap and vacuum out the shavings and debris. If you have bores which are buggered up beyond usefulness, try Heilicoil, or, drill oversize and re-tap. If factory calls for loctite, anti seize,or Teflon tape, probably a good idea to follow suit. Dont over torque the bolts. If you use a high quality gasket and have nice and clean bores, you shouldnt need to worry about intake leaks for a very long time. Road...

40lb/ft torque wow where did you get those specs! Unless I am wrong that sounds like maybe 40 in/lbs. Recheck your specs or get better tech info than AZ. Let us know what it is.
