You need at least 60 or is it 61 psi to start. Oldmaster can tell you the exact figure. Where are you OM? toddluck69 04-21-2008, 05:06 AM thanks yeah starting pressure of 60-66 is required to start i have a new pump on the way toddluck69 04-24-2008, 08:08 PM well it was a defective NEW pump got another one and she fires right up Steve47 05-04-2008, 08:39 PM Something I learned about the fuel pumps. Always have at least a half tank of fuel, something to do with how they are cooled. May sound crazy but I read that here or somewhere but I've replaced 2 of them., But since keeping the tank half full at all times I have no whining sound from the pump and no issues. Hope this is of help to everyone. Can anyone verify? Blue Bowtie 05-04-2008, 11:03 PM The pumps used in the late '90s and beyond usually have a well as part of the in-tank unit. This maintains a reserve of cooling fuel around the pump regardless of what is in the tank. http://72.19.213.157/files/InTankUnitNewB.jpg Related Links Enter the largest automotive community on the planet! |
