Mostly, it's just carefully pulling out the plastic christmas trees that hold outer edges of door panel.

However, there are a few "tricks" I may not remember all, but I think this is most of them.

1. Have to carefully pry out the electric window/seat controls from the armrest to reveal hidden screw(s) and to unplug the controls.

2. Have to remove the small panel for the power door lock switch to unplug it and also make more room for the door handle to pass though.

3. The courtesy light, or dummy light cover on the outer end of the door arm rest must also be pried out to reveal a hidden screw/nut and unplug the light if you have one.

The door panel tool from NAPA etc. makes pulling out the christmas trees easier and less likely to damage the door panel.

Once all this stuff is loose/undone, the panel basically lifts up and off.

If your car doesn't have factory speakers, you'll probably need to get them from the salvage yard, along with the grills.

This was the essence of it on my 94. Your 97 may be somewhat different, I dunno.

that was actualy exacttly what my car is like. so thankyou very much. but unfortunatly ive already taken them off, taken the factory speakers our and put aftermarket ones back in. and unfortunatly i broke a few things on both doors, and now the power windows and chair pod as i call it wont stay down and im having trouble getting the courtesy light screw back in, so im having one of my family friends whos a mechanic help me get it all back together correctly and working good. thanks a lot tho.
