Hi,

Please can anyone help with any information on a fault that has developed with my 2001 Avensis 2.0VVT-i Automatic.

The symptoms are that the VSC, VSC Off lights come on and stay on for a while, but this fault is intermittent.
The Auto transmission also sometimes stops changing up to 4th and 5th gears leaving me doing about 4000rpm at 60mph.

I know these two are related as I have found threads on ToyotaNation of people that have had exactly the same issue with this car, but I can no longer view the full threads to see the solution to the problem.

Toyota have identified the following codes

P1653 SC V Motor Circuit
C1203 Engine Control System Comms Circuit
C1208 Steering Position Sensor

They are suggesting I replace both VACUUM VALVE ASSEMBLYs, Parts T25860-0H030 and T25860-28070 at a cost of £305

Has anyone experienced this before?
