'91 9C1? chevrolet has confused me..please help!!Delta Boi 04-05-2008, 06:56 AM Allright let's start from the begining. I have the 1991 Chevrolet Caprice Classic; now comes the part that's confusing me. Chevrolet says the 5.7L 350ci wasn't the powerplant in Caprice models until 1994, but...lol...Everything i've read says that the 9C1 is a 5.7L 350ci.. If you missed my confussion then your proberly not the person i'm in need of an answer from because your as lost as I am o the topic. But i'll explain it again. The 1991 Caprice Classics' came with the 5.0L 305ci engine package. Now does that exclude the 9C1 police upgrade packages or did the '91-'93 police package come in both a 305 and 350 packages? Now do you understand my confussion? Please if you can help me clarify this misunderstanding I'll be forever indebted to you. Please don't respond if you have as much or less knowledge of the situtation as I do, i need serious advice here. Also, i don't want to replace my engine just do a few upgrades; where would you suggest I start? CD Smalley 04-05-2008, 07:24 AM 9C1s from 91-93 were indeed available with 5.0L and 5.7L engines. I do believe however, that only 9C1s could be had with a 5.7L for several years, from say 86-93. The non-9C1 cars could got a 5.0L as their largest engine. As far as 94-96 cars go... Both civilian and 9C1 models could be had with a 4.3L V8 or 5.7L V8, the L99 and LT1 respectivly. Checkout www.9C1.com if you want to see the brochures available from GM. They will give lots of information. silicon212 04-05-2008, 12:40 PM Police package cars only got a 5.7 option from 1981 through 1992. In 1993, the civilian LTZ Caprice was available with the L05 350. In '94-'96, all Caprices had the same engine options.
