Now I though Napa sold A/C delco parts, which is GM. If Napa has thier own brand, then yeah I'd stay away from it and stick with A/C delco unless you don't plan on keeping the truck for a while.

I bought the Napa brand a year ago. The GM tech said to only buy OEQ parts. I ordered one today so In 4 days I will put in the new one and post the results.

The pintle valve is held open and look for a piece carbon holding it open,a very common problem. There is an egr gasket with a filter in it made and I seen one so far,Carquest is one that sells this and most parts stores sell it.

You won't find to many AC Delco parts at the NAPA stores around here. They carry selected AC Delco spark plugs because with some GM vehicles no after-market plugs are available or acceptable. NAPA is not an authorized AC Delco retailer.

According to my bud who owns a service center, NAPA sells mostly far east imported parts. UNLESS you demand the good stuff, they will sell you parts sourced from China. Not long back I had to replace the brake rotors on my winter car (93 Lumina). I called all the local stores and not one, inclduing NAPA carried anything else but Made in China brake parts, pads, rotors drums etc. Reason, cheap!

I replaced the rotors on this truck with Napa parts two years ago and they are starting to warp already. I did buythe "good ones" though. The New EGR valve is comming from Parts Train, they said these are OEQ for about half the price from the dealer price. the part looks exactly like the dealer part. the top of the valve is metal rather than plastic.

I've never had to buy an EGR valve yet-- have always had good luck cleaning the old one- and removing the stuck carbon deposits---The new ones aren't dirty- did you try cleaning yours- or did it fail electrically?

I put in a new EGR valve today OEQ. The stumble is gone for now and the code light is still off. The gasket
for the old EGR valve had a burn between the two port holes and i am sure there was a leak between the two.

That would do it!

Plastic? I don't think I've ever seen an EGR valve with a plastic top. EDIT: Actually now that I think of it, I'm picturing the vacuum powered ones.
