Hello people, I have a 1995 Ford Crown Victoria Police Package. V8 engine, Single Over Head Cam, it wont start and the engine wont even turn. I've had my battery checked and they said it was good at autozone but checked it myself and the acid was bubbling inside the cells so i considered it dead myself. Ive replaced my starter earlier this year so i know its not that. When i try to start it nothing happens and a clicking noise sounds off in the car. I tried to jump it the other day during night time hours and acidently hooked up the wrong jumper cables on the wrong terminals, but only for like a second so I hope that didn't do any damage and no i haven't replaced the battery yet i just wanted to make sure it was dead because lots of corrosion built up on the battery all the time and i always had problems with it. Any and All advice is appreciated.

Clean all battery connections then put a charger on the battery. When fully charged check for voltage it should be around 12.8 volts. If it turns the car over fine. Check the voltage when trying to start the car if it drops down to around 8 volt install a new battery. You need around 14.4 volt with the engine running and all electrical items turned on.
