94 JGC No Spark,No Gas, HELPmichi292 03-30-2008, 12:40 PM Have replaced fuel pump, fuel filter, coil, dist. cap, rotor, spark plugs, crank position sensor, 20 amp fuse under hood and still NOTHING, any ideas? Someone said try the ignition switch?? Please help. jdl 03-30-2008, 04:21 PM Did you check for troublecodes? I saw what you replaced, not sure what tests you did? During cranking, is there voltage at the coil and injectors? The ASD relay supplies that voltage. At the cam sensor, the gray wire with the black stripe should carry the signal, with the engine cranking. At the crank sensor, the red wire with the lite green stripe should carry the signal, with the engine cranking. Do you have those signals? I believe the coil side of the asd relay and the coil side of the fuel pump relay share the same ground circuit, that circuit is controlled by the computer. If the computer doesn't ground that circuit, then neither relay will work. michi292 03-30-2008, 05:54 PM We have no way to check test codes. But we did just bring home 12v tester. If no signal going to crank sensor or cam sensor, where does the signal come from? Computer? No juice is getting back to fuel pump, where does that signal come from? Thank you so much for your response. jdl 03-31-2008, 12:27 PM Sometimes you can check codes by cycling the ignition switch, (on/off--on/off--on), then the cel (check engine lite) starts flashing. You count the flashes to get the codes. You could do some testing at the fuel pump relay. The signals, I was talking about, go from the cam and crank sensors to the computer. redvoyager 09-21-2008, 06:35 PM Where is the cam sensor on a 4.0? I don't seem to have a connector for it, unless its in the dist. bigd7315 09-28-2008, 10:52 PM check you ecm fuse in fuse box inside truck and I would lean towars the cam sensor being bad if the fuse is good check for power to your coil vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
